Clean Up Time is an adorable little book we recently added to our collection. As part of the Animal Families series, it tells all about how animals get themselves cleaned up. It’s super adorable and keeps the attention of our active three year old that seems to only want to run around most of the time! Everytime you turn the page, you learn about how a new critter gets all cleaned up. From cats and kittens to crocodiles and porcupines, this little book is an absolute joy to read!

Tips For Making Bath Time Fun Time
Let’s face it, some kids hate baths. Our boy screams like a banshee if water goes anywhere near the top of his head, oh how fun it is to shampoo his hair! We’ve been researching and trying out ways to make bath time more fun and thought we’d pass them along. Hope it helps you and we’d love to hear what works for you! We’ll take all the tips we can get!
Bath Picasso: Some of the braver parents make their own bath time paint. You can get a super easy recipe for Homemade Bath Paint over at One Beautiful Home Blog. My hat goes off to that dedicated Mommy! I’m a little fearful of the messes elsewhere if we learn to paint the bathtub!
Waterfall Screams: If the water falling on your little ones head is a problem, consider getting a visor to help shield their face from water. We find it super fun to watch the water fall down as our hair is rinsed! They also have special pouring cups designed to help pour without the water going into their eyes, we prefer the visors personally.
Bath Bombs for Kids: Over at Busy Bliss there is an awesome and simple recipe to make bath bombs for your little one! They’ll love watching the fizzing as the bomb dissolves! It’s a great distraction to quickly pour on the water for hair rinsing, I know it’s evil but sometimes you just gotta do what you can. Bonus: you can use lavender essential oil to help relax them when they bathe before bath time!
Bath Time Songs: Songs make everything more fun! We don’t have to tell them they are learning too! Singing silly songs with your kids not only makes life more enjoyable, it also helps teach them language skills and to associate words with things or actions. We have a ton of kids music that I love jamming to with the little ones!
Bath Time Cubes: I recently did a post on ways to use ice cube trays, this one is the newest addition. Freeze ice cubes with a little food coloring. The kids can watch the colors go around the bath tub as they melt. This one is probably going to require some cleaning afterward though.
Clean Up Time: Okay, I know, shameless plug. But seriously, get this book and use it as a tool to encourage your little one to take a bath. You can even do some imaginative play with pretending to get clean like some of the animals in the book!
Bath Time Soap Crayons: This lady is a genius! You can make these simple little bath time soap crayons, add in some essential oils if you like, and let them color themselves clean!
Bath Toys: There are tons and tons of bath toys that children can play with in the tub. When I was a kid, those were pretty much any waterproof toy you owned. Times have changed though, so now you can buy them specifically made for the tub. Absolutely loving the foam letters and numbers, it’s always great to learn while we play!

We always read at least one book a night. And we list all the things and people we were grateful for
Our bedtime routine is bath time. Then- we read a few books before bedtime. Then the kids try to drag it out with requests for water or more books.
My granddaughters love reading any book about animals. They will like learning about how they take a bath.
When my granddaughters spend the night they like to hear stories about their Daddy when he was little. I read them some of his books that I saved for them.
My niece actually loves her bedtime routine. She enjoys her bath and the toys she gets to play with in the tub. Afterward we read he a couple stories and she’s off to sleep. Sooo easy! She might get up an hour later for a glass of water but that is pretty rare.
So busy all the time easier to stay clean and not make a mess without noticing or being active in thought about it is so much better. I would give this to my friend who just had a little one.
I don’t know what my great niece (3) bed time routine is. At my house when she spends the day and it is nap time — I am in the recliner and she is laying between my legs with her pillow, blanket, sippie cup watching one of her favorite shows.
My niece and nephew both had their children a couple weeks apart. So bath time is always fun. They love to get in a bath full of toys and play for as long as they can. 🙂
My grandson reads a chapter or two with his Dad and Mom before going to bed. After that, it’s brushing teeth and prayers.
Reading books is a great way for kids to calm down before bedtime. As an adult, I still read myself to sleep!

My grand kids always have a bath at night. After the bath we read them a story and off to bed they go
I usually take a 2 mile walk before I go to bed and make sure not to look at the blue light makes me not sleep right. I clean myself up and sleep just fine.
My kids always had a bath each night. They each would pick out a story to be read. That was always a special time and love doing this with my 2 grandsons as well.
