I absolutely love the Book of Luke. There is so much there to keep one learning and one of my favorite things of the Bible is that every book, including Luke, directs back to each either by direct quotes or by [sometimes vague] direct reference. I am amazingly excited about this particular film because it’s (as stated on the cover) word for word and unedited. Seems like a gutsy move by the directors but certainly an appreciated one. I look forward to watching it and will be coming back to talk about it once I do! Until then, read all about it below.
Following The Gospel of John and The Gospel of Mark comes the third installment in the renowned Gospel film series, The Gospel of Luke, arriving on DVD, Digital HD, and On Demand October 17 from Lionsgate. The third book of The New Testament comes to life for the first time with a truly unique, word-for-word adaptation that uses the gospel narrative as its script. Shot on location in Morocco with consultation from expert theologians and biblical scholars, and produced by the Lumo Project, The Gospel series was given the Dove Faith Friendly Seal for 12+. The Gospel of Luke DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $14.98.
The Gospel of Luke, more than any other, fits the category of ancient biography. Luke, as “narrator” of events, sees Jesus as the “Savior” of all people, always on the side of the needy and the deprived. Narrated in the NIV by British actor Richard E. Grant and in the KJV by Sir Derek Jacobi, this epic production — featuring specially constructed sets and the authentic countryside of Morocco — has been critically acclaimed by leading religious scholars as a unique and highly authentic telling of the Jesus story.

If you are a Christian parent or parent-to-be, no doubt the importance of telling Bible stories cannot ever be fully explained. I remember fondly the stories I was read as a child and those that I learned in Sunday School. The Beginner’s Bible is full of stories from both the Old and New Testament. Simply stated to help the tiny ones begin to understand each story, they are well illustrated and short enough to get through before they lose the desire to pay attention. Giving the opportunity to lay down the foundation that will allow them to rebuild their house each and every time. I, personally, am ever so grateful for my foundation being so strongly laid down by two in particular of my Granny’s and my Pa-Pa, for each and every time they told me stories and took me to church. Teaching me to behave and to build my foundation on His Word, I’ve used those lessons to get through every situation that I have come across throughout my life. The Beginner’s Bible is a wonderful resource to help you do the same thing with the little one’s in our life. About The Beginner’s Bible
