Always Eat After 7: Choosing A New Journey

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own. We all know I’m too stubborn to have my opinion bought off. Now, on to the fun…

Weight loss is a beast many of us struggle with. My entire life I’ve dealt with wanting to lose weight. I’ve always done the lose two pounds, gain two pounds then give up for a bit. Start again. It’s a terrible cycle but one I think we can all relate to. Well, most of us anyway. I have a friend who is super thin, her battle is different. She’s always tried to gain weight and been unable to do so. Hard for us thicker girls to feel sorry for that, but I know her well enough to know that it, too, is a terrible battle.

So, here I am, trying something new again.

This time is different though and here’s why, I’ll be doing a series of posts on this book that I’m reviewing an advanced copy of Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion.

My first thought is how I’ve always been told the opposite, don’t eat late, always eat breakfast, lower carb intake and so on. So this is completely different than everything I’ve heard for years. Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of the general excuses we typically find not to improve ourselves.

The other thing that’s different is that I’ll be sharing my journey. Typically, it’s my own silent battle. No one can see me fail if they don’t know I’m trying. The reason I use the word fail is that I generally quit.

Now if I quit, I’ve got some accountability. Perhaps we’ll get some trolls that will motivate me with their hatefulness. Probably not, I do love that we have a good vibe of positive feelings, messages and comments across My Crafty Zoo and it’s platforms. Ya’ll mean a lot to me!

The first thing that caught my eye after the title was this little blurb: “The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks — While Burning Fat Overnight”.

Um, who could say no to that??? My inner rebel is very excited to start this journey, we like breaking rules. It seems the author of this book shares my rebel spirit. As proof, to that shared rebel spirit, here’s a quote directly from the book:

Nutritional science offers a wealth of research on eating right, but it can also confuse you with its contradictory findings. I decided to play devil’s advocate and question every “rule” I’d ever heard or read about dieting and weight loss. I’m talking about the messages you often hear from the medical establishment and diet industry, such as “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” “Avoid carbs—especially at night,” and “Whatever you do, never eat before bedtime.” What if it was okay to eat late at night? What if it was okay to skip breakfast? What if it was okay to snack on carbs at night? I wanted answers.

If your inner rebel isn’t motivated by that quote, I’ll go on.

As I get older, I’ve begun to realize the affects on my health. My knees ache, my endurance is shameful and I just don’t move the way I use to. Not to mention the exhaustion it brings and hormone junk. It’s time to get serious and actually do something about the weight.

Joel begins his book by not only telling his story, but the hows and whys of his own weight challenges. I’ve always thought ‘those’ people don’t have ‘normal’ people fat challenges, so I appreciated the real life stuff that he shared.

Always Eat After 7: Choosing A New JourneyThere’s also a lot of research that goes into it, and he cites some of that research in the intro, which the researcher in me appreciates. He doesn’t just do that though, the book provides evidence, an easy to follow, safe strategy to lose weight, a daily meal schedule and 6 week menu plan 70 delicious recipes. The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

I’m confident that this new journey with Always Eat After 7 is going to be game changing. It certainly seems like something that goes with our nature, rather than against and therefore must be more doable. I’ll be doing more posts as I journey with this book and hope you’ll check back. Lots of excitement here!
