Homemade Cleaners

Hey Everyone!  We’re back with Thankless Tips and Tricks Thursdays!  I hope you are enjoying them!  I’d love to hear any ideas you have for them!  I’ll gladly do the research and find tips and tricks on whatever subjects you suggest!!!
.
Today I thought I’d share the recipes for laundry soap and window cleaner.  Both work very well.  One batch of the laundry soap will literally last for months, and I do 3-5 loads per day!

To Make Window Cleaner:
Get a spray bottle (the one I use came from Dollar Tree)
fill halfway with water
fill the rest with vinegar
Shake and use!

It’s best to use newspaper, but if you don’t have newspaper or don’t like using it, you can use whatever you like.  Just don’t use something that is going to leave behind particles.

Laundry Detergent:
1 bar fels naptha (soap found in the laundry section)
2 cups borax
2 cups washing powder
Grate/shred the bar of fels naptha into fine shreds, mix all together.  Place in jar for storage.  Use 1 tbsp (yes, you DID read that right!) for normal loads and 2 tbsp for absorbent loads.

I add scented stuff to my loads of towels and blankets so that they smell pretty.  😀

Kaycee

Hi all! My name is Kaycee. I am now learning to navigate life as a single woman. Turns out, it's not all about husband and children. Who knew? So, I'm on a journey of self discovery. I have 5 children, 3 of which are married, 5 2 are in Heaven (my beautiful baby Acadia Reign and my Diva Princess Tara Elizabeth), and 7 grandchildren! Plus, a ton of fabulous nieces and nephews! My educational background is in Psychology and Child Development but my heart is in ministry, crafts, fun, reviews and my website, My Crafty Zoo. Or at least it was, now I'm learning who I really am, beneath all of the busy family life. It's an adventure to be sure. I look forward to continuing to share my life through word and pictures with you and love hearing your feedback! Thank you for taking the time to read and allowing me to share! I look forward to reading your comments!

I have a OXO and love it. My sisters and mom loved it so much that I bought them for everybody for X-mas. I have never been able to get the church-key method to work, but occasionally I will use the hot water and then tap it on the counter to open a particularly stubborn jar.
