Ha! Television commercials use to be so much more entertaining! I had that eye opener as a blogger.
I totally get your feelings on committing. I always write my honest feelings, which has cost me sponsors in the past but it’s alright. I’d rather have my dignity than their twenty bucks.
To the book reviewer comment, I’m totally with you! This is why I don’t have a lot on my site. I do enjoy sharing kids books and craft/recipe books. You’ll always know how much I love a book by my writing. When I love it, I gush. haha. Of course, I don’t have that many fiction books so if it’s here it’s probably at least decent. I don’t rate them anywhere unless I love them. End. Stop. For that reason!
I agree! I enjoy it, most of the time. I just cannot stand when they want an ‘honest’ review, but pull their sponsorship if it’s not a glowing review. It’s whatever though, I post it anyway because I refuse to lie to anyone for anything.
]]>Girl, I totally feel ya! It’s kind of hard to figure out how much is ‘fluff’ and how much is legit advice. Personally, I try to make sure that all of my posts ring of truth, with a splash of the needed links or whatever. Sometimes I even post in parenthesis if I really love something so that readers know it isn’t a sales pitch.
Thanks for visiting and commenting!
Regarding social media influencers all across the board, I won’t say that I don’t trust them but I don’t commit to anything based on their say so. Like, I’m not a lemming at all.
I’m especially skeptical of ALL book reviewers, book tours, and the like, though. Too many books have 5 star ratings that truly do NOT deserve them. It’s a joke.
