Meditative Stone Art: Perfect, Simple DIY Fun
Meditative Stone Art will teach and guide you to create 40 different Mandala and nature inspired designs for the most gorgeous stones! We are giving one lucky winner this book to begin their next inspired crafting journey!
Meditative Stone Art can help alleviate stress, bring out your creative vibes and help you be at one with nature for a while. No matter what stone art you are interested in, this is a great way to get started. There are 44 illustrated step-by-step projects, 21 of which are the gorgeous mandala designs and 23 are absolutely beautiful nature inspired designs.
Maria Mercedes Trujillo Arango shares with readers of all skill levels her beautiful art of decorating stones. Maria Mercedes Trujillo Arango is the author of Rock Point’s Meditative Mandala Stones kit and is a self-taught illustrator-crafter from Bogota, Colombia, who now calls New Zealand home. She likes to draw, paint, and embroider. In 2001, she became interested in mandalas and started drawing them and learning more about their history, psychology, and symbolism. Since 2011, she has combined her love of mandalas with painting beautiful stones she has collected.
The step by step instructions fill the pages with easy to follow written directions and gorgeous photo examples of almost every step. Meditative Stone Art is perfect for beginners though even experienced artists will likely learn a thing or two! Besides, with a goal of being inspired, focused and relaxed who wouldn’t want to achieve those?
Within the tools and supplies chapter, she teaches us everything we would need to get started which is common in books such as these. However, being the type of book that it is she also includes how to find your own stones and prepare them! I think that’s absolutely fantastic! If you are already a craft or art person, you’ll likely have most of the supplies needed on hand. I’m always in favor of being able to try things out without breaking the bank!
With winter setting in already, we think this may be the perfect new skill to learn while we’re all stuck inside, hiding from the cold!
