Old Time Candy: Sweet Trip In Time @oldtimecandy
Old Time Candy. Seriously lit up our day! Nothing brings back nostalgia and happy memories like candy from your childhood. Except maybe the toys, but I haven’t found a box for those yet.
Old Time Candy
Old Time Candy is a candy company offering boxes, bags and tubs of your favorite candies but that doesn’t quite make them special. What makes them super special are their Decade Assortment Boxes. These things will blow your mind. Anyone’s mind.
The Decade assortments can be chosen from the the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. You can order a 2 or 4 lb box from your favorite decade or you can choose an all decades box with a selection from every decade they offer! This may be the best gift anyone could give (outside of an organ or life or something).
As an extra bit of fun, you can follow them on social media and see what silly decade stuff they post. I love the fun that they share with everyone.
How Old Time Candy Went Above & Beyond
One of the ‘little’ things I loved when I opened my box was the invoice. I know, that sounds silly, but hear me out. On the invoice, below all of the regular shipping information and such, is a place typed with spaces that hold handwritten initials telling you who picked out your candy and who packed it! It’s easy to discern that the initials are written by different people which tells me that they are a company that truly cares about their clients and candies.
Keeping It Cool
If you live in a hot climate or are ordering during the summer months, they’ve got you covered. They will include an Ice-Brix and include instructions on how to make sure that your candy is at it’s best when you open your treats!
Ordering Your Decade Box
Old Time Candy suggests if you want to order a decade box for yourself or a loved one, order the one from the decade when you or they were around 10 years old. Since I grew up in a very rural area, I ordered the decade before I was born and, as it turned out, that was exactly what I coveted at our little community grocery store! My husband said they were exactly what he grew up on as well.
There was only one thing missing: tootsie pops. As it turns out, those were first made in 1931. The good ones never go out of style I suppose.
I suppose, from my experience, if you are ordering for someone who grew up in a rural area, the guidelines may be a little off. Of course, I think any decade would have been fabulous! It’s seriously a fantastic box of delicious goodies!
My 70’s Candy Box
Okay, my decade box was from the 70’s. It was full, like really full, of candy from the 1970’s. So many things I didn’t realize came out in that decade. I waited to open it when my husband could join in on the fun and it was worth the long, torturous wait for sure.
What could be more fun than opening it to some of our favorite 70’s tunes? We boogied to our vinyl of Ben by Michael Jackson. There’s not a single song on that album that isn’t absolutely amazing! While these were out before we were alive, they still bring back great vibes and made opening the Old Time Candy even more fun!
Opening the box together inspired so much nostalgia and a flood of dopamine as we excitedly exchanged stories from our childhoods. It was a wonderful way to get to bond a little more and it took a rough morning and turned it completely around! The smiles and laughter that came from opening that magic little time machine was absolutely priceless.
In Conclusion
Order a decade box. Whichever one. Whether you want to explore the candies of a new decade or walk down memory lane, you can’t miss out on these fabulous boxes!
These would be great for a date night as well, pick your decade and a few films from that decade, then spend the evening going back in time. Or, skip the films and simply spend hours talking about your best childhood memories.
If that’s Not Enough
I love companies that give back, you may have figured that out by my Mission Belts review, or the review of their kids belts. So, as I was scrolling through their website (mostly because I could spend hours of happiness there), I came to a link to donate to help build wells and such in West Africa.
So far, their customers have donated enough through them to build a well in Sierra Leone. That’s not all they do though, they began this mission to help due to their own personal trip to help there. That is something I love and am truly passionate about: helping and loving others.
One More Thing
As if everything else hasn’t been enough to make this the most groovy box you’ll ever get, they also include an adorable magnet of just their little logo guy! I’m a crazy magnet keeper, so I’m totally psyched by the little bonus! Far Out, Old Time Candy, Far Out!
(See what I did there, are you laughing or eye rolling? Either way, it cracked me up)
The wax bottles and dot candy are the best ones in the 90s box!! I’m an 80s baby but the 90s were definitely the best years!
I love that they have subscription boxes! Talk about mail to look forward to! =)
I love their decade candy. I was amazed at home many candies I forgot about. It’s so much fun to go down memory lane looking through the candy. I would love to get some candy from when I was growing up to let my Grandkids see some of the candies from then. Funny thing is the years when I was younger and growing up cover more than one in my life, the ’50s, ’60s.
When I was a kid back in the 80’s, my grandparents lived by a store. My cousins and I would each get a quarter then go buy a big bag of penny candy to share.
won one of these a few years ago and gave it to my brother for Christmas they make good gifts and bring back great memory’s.
I love how they have the Candy decade boxes. I have a hard time choosing between the 70’s & 80’s. I’m a 70’s baby but I absolutely LOVED the 80’s. The 80’s had it all, Some of the best music, movies, candy etc.. Seeing all this candy brings back so many good childhood memories

This candy makes nice gifts. It reminds everyone of their childhood and makes them smile.
The candy by decade is so cool! I remember so many of them from the 1980’s when I was growing up.
All of this candy brings back so many memories, I didn’t even know half of it was still in production!
It’s finally Halloween! Now I can eat all this fun candy! Happy Halloween!
The 70s must be popular, there are so many things out of stock right now!

I love the section of candy on the site including Big Red gum, orange slices, and the caramel creams.
I went back and looked at the decades and was surprised at what candy came out when. I remember the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. I would love to get one of these and just sit back and enjoy all the candy you can’t find anymore. My husband is the same age as me, so it would cover both of us. I think it’s great that they offer this service. It would be fun to share with our kids what we ate when we were younger. Thanks so much for the chance.

I visited the Old Time Candy site and a popular candy from the decade I was born was the ANDES MINTS. They are still a favorite of mine.

I had totally forgotten about banana KITS TAFFY. They carry them all!
I just asked my hubby (who is 2 years younger then me) which decade he’d want – 60’s or 70’s…he chose 70’s. I lived right next door to a little store that had a HUGE candy assortment, in the 60’s…maybe I’ll get us each a different box/bag. Yum! Thanks and God bless!
I love Jelly nougats. I don’t see them around too much anymore
It would be interesting to try candies from way back when, before my time. I mean, what does the 1920’s candy, Black Cow, taste like?
I did not realize that Old Time Candy offered more than candy. I saw Hot Fries and other savory snacks, as well.
It brings back memories of going to the candy store at lunchtime in elementary school and getting my favorites of Lemonheads and dots or even pixie stixs.
Follow Me on GoodReads does not work
I love the SUBSCRIPTION BOXES such great gifts to give year round. All our old favorite candy flavors . So much fun to share with the family too.

Going to their website is like going in to a real old candy store, with jars of candies lining the walls. It would be a kid’s dream come true… or a grownup’s!
All 3 of my sons would like the 90s box. They got the gummy sharks every time we went to the grocery store.
Checking out the 70’s, I saw the Twin Cherry Lollipops. Brought back memories of myself and my 3 best friends throughout high school. We called ourselves the Fearsome Foursome.
I need for Halloween to be over because every time I look at all that candy, I go into my Halloween stash and eat a piece! LOL
These are the candies that I grew up with and still eat. Candy cigarettes play a part in Stephen King’s new book, very ironic.
They have so much to choose from. I saw today they are having a sale on Halloween candy.
I wish I lived next door to this place! I would be a daily customer.
Nobody with the name “CraftyZoo” has signed up on Goodreads
I like the idea of being able to pick out a decade and go with those candies. It’s a great gift idea

It feels like I gain 10 pounds every time I go looking at all that candy!
I like that they have subscription boxes. The glass candy jar is my favorite!
I remember going to the neighborhood store and trying to decide what candy I wanted from the display. At that time all the candy in the display case was one cent a piece. If a had a dime I could get 10 pieces of candy. I seldom had a dime, but sometimes I had a nickle and could get five pieces of candy.
I would want to get a 40’s or 50’s decade box for my mom. I’ve listened to her talk about the few sweets she was able to eat as a child (40’s) and as a teenager (50’s). I wonder if it would make her talk more about her memories from those decades. Thanks for the chance!
Do you remember Chick-o- Sticks? I loved those back in the 70’s, when I was a kid. Old Time Candy has them!
Great selection of candy…wow! The Decade Candy gift boxes are awesome!

I like the 60s decade box
I’ve bought candy from them and it was wonderful. The candies are just as you remember them. I mean, I had no idea some of these candies were still made, but Old Time Candy had them.
I loved searching through their candies. It really brought back so many memories of the 60s and ’70s. The kind of candy that we traded with friends and the candy that my Dad brought home to us when he stopped by the area store. What a great visit, I think it’s great they are offering all these candies. When I thought I would never see some of them again. I now have a place to get them and share them with my Daughter and Grandchildren.

The 60’s! Those were the days!! I’d go to the dime store and buy 5 or 10 cents worth of candy after I got my allowance (can’t remember how much it was, probably a quarter!). Pixie Stix, Gold Rush Gum, Cinnamon Toothpicks, Fruit Stripe Gum were all favorites.
