In PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST, Luke risks his life to visit Paul, who is held captive in a Roman prison under Nero’s rule. Together, they struggle against a determined emperor and the frailties of the human spirit in order to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread their message to the world.
Paul may have been one of my favorite Apostles. I appreciate that he didn’t put too much stock into niceties and was straight forward. It is the opinion of this blogger that life would be a lot easier if everyone were straight forwards. Of course, it is quite obvious that today’s society can’t really tolerate anyone disagreeing with their own perspective. Funny, if no one disagrees with us, how might we grow? As both individuals and Christians?

PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is a faith film that doesn’t shy away from presenting the reality of fear, danger and persecution faced by the early believers in the time of Nero . . . and their amazing acts of faith, love and service. Practicing Christian faith often meant a death sentence in ancient Rome, often brought about by horrific means. But in the face of it, the early church continued to serve. I’m excited to see this. Paul was a chosen vessel for The Lord, by The Lord. I don’t think Paul ever could quite forgive himself for his deeds prior to our Lord stopping him on the road to Damascus.
God has plans for us all. Paul is a perfect example of that. I also think it serves as a message to us that even if we didn’t always love for The Lord, that if and when we do give our hearts to God, that we can still serve Him, do His Will, be forgiven, and be Blessed of Him.
