Eat This! How to eat well & LOSE WEIGHT
This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own. We all know I’m too stubborn to have my opinion bought off. Now, on to the fun…
This post has been titled ‘Eat This’ because, just being honest, that’s what my brain screams when I flip through the recipe section of Always Eat After 7 PM. For real, the recipes and journey are quite enjoyable! So, for your viewing pleasure, I’m including photos of the recipes throughout this post. Enjoy!
Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion is now available to purchase.
If you missed the first two posts, please check them out! I started out talking about WHY this particular book was chosen in ‘Always Eat After 7: Choosing a New Journey‘ and discussed some very key points that everyone can relate to. Trust me, even you will find it hard to hold on to our typical excuses.
The second post in the series, ‘Weight Loss Journey Continued: Part 2: Always Eat After 7‘ included a fabulous interview with the author, Joel Marion, that really shed some more light on his vision, the book and the journey itself.
Regardless of intent, whether you choose this journey to get healthy or lose weight, it certainly contains insight that you’ll appreciate. I know that it has for me.
My own journey, having had years and years in the wrong direction, will take a while. That’s okay, so long as a healthier me comes out at some point. The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.
What I’m Loving
Not only does the book contain some amazingly yummy (and healthy) recipes, it also teaches us how to eat. This plan doesn’t force you to count carbs, avoid all the things we love and so forth but instead teaches us to enjoy them in a healthier more doable way.
To be honest, there’s not a point in life that I can envision where I’ll actually listen to all the rules of diets, meal plans and so forth. I’ve tried it and the outcome has always been that I’d say I was on ‘X Diet Light’ which translated to I stick to it except I still have these particular things that aren’t allowed.
Fortunately, this particular plan speaks to all my rebellious tendencies. It’s supports carbs, late night eating, and you never go hungry! Plus, everything is backed up (and documented) with scientific evidence.
“Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep, providing your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods to fuel your metabolism as you sleep.”
In the back of the book is a citation list for every single reference mentioned, divided first by section, then in alphabetical order. That is something that I truly appreciate.
Oh… the food!
I’ve always loved food, seems like some of my best memories included some big dinner or another. Unfortunately, a desire to ‘eat this’ is not what typically comes out of diet books or low fat recipes. As you can see by the images I’ve sprinkled throughout this post, Always Eat After 7 PM successfully brings you recipes that make your brain scream ‘I WANT to eat this!’.
I can’t choose a favorite, if we’re being real, because there are too many that are flavor explosions! So, I’ll tell you that pictured are the following:
Chili Loaded Baked Potato
Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet
No Bake Salted Caramel Bars
Fruit Tarts
Cherry Garcia Ice Cream
Each of these recipes are included in the book, along with a ton of others that are fabulous! The photos throughout the recipe section of the book are mouth watering!
Don’t worry though, you can still eat your favorite recipes! Always Eat After 7 PM teaches us how to properly eat them, modify them and enjoy them without the guilt (or weight gain).
In addition to the recipes, the book includes easy to follow meal planning and food lists. It really does make it simple and gets rid of most of my typical excuses!
