Review of the Film

Having watched the film, my thoughts haven’t changed much from what I wrote  when I read about the film.  (See below)  It is such an emotional and touching film and truly brings the emotions from the screen to the audience.  It’s certainly a film that you should check out.  The message, of course, is one we all need to be reminded of or learn from time to time.

I have no desire to ruin anything for you.  I do suggest you take tissues to the theater or have them close at hand when you watch the film.  It is very touching and will definitely bring one to tears.  I’m not certain I’d suggest someone who has PTSD from a similar situation but that’s a judgement call one has to make on their own.

Thoughts On Having Read About the Film

As I read about the film, attempting to come up with a synopsis for this post, I’ve completely drawn a blank.  No part of my semi-sheltered life has prepared me to fully understand how a returning veteran with PTSD could feel.  So, rather than attempting, I am providing you with the press release:

Path to Redemption is the inspiring and powerful continuation of Louis “Louie” Zamperini’s post-World War II story and his struggle to find peace and forgiveness after his ruthless treatment as a Japanese prisoner of war. While the story stands alone, the brand-new film picks up where 2014’s epic saga UNBROKEN ends, continuing the amazing true story of the Olympian and World War II hero.

Following the Allied victory in World War II, UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION tells the story of Zamperini’s experiences returning to the United States. When the war ended, his real battle began.

Haunted by nightmares of his torment, Louie sees himself as anything but a hero. Then, he meets Cynthia, a young woman who captures his eye—and his heart.

Louie’s wrathful quest for revenge drives him deeper into despair, putting the couple on the brink of divorce. Cynthia turns to God, and prays for Louie to find peace and forgiveness

Unbroken: Path to Redemption

WHEN THE WAR ENDED, HIS BATTLE BEGAN.

Based on Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling book, UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION begins where the hit movie Unbroken concludes, sharing the next amazing chapter of the unbelievable true story of Olympian and World War II hero Louis Zamperini.

Haunted by nightmares of his torment, Louie sees himself as anything but a hero. Then, he meets Cynthia, a young woman who captures his eye—and his heart.

Louie’s wrathful quest for revenge drives him deeper into despair, putting the couple on the brink of divorce. Until Cynthia experiences Billy Graham’s 1949 Los Angeles Crusade, where she finds faith in God and a renewed commitment to her marriage and her husband. Now, her most fervent prayer is for God to help Louie find the peace and forgiveness he so desperately needs.

In theaters September 14, UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION brings to life the rest of this powerful real-life story of forgiveness, redemption, and amazing grace.

Kaycee

Hi all! My name is Kaycee. I am now learning to navigate life as a single woman. Turns out, it's not all about husband and children. Who knew? So, I'm on a journey of self discovery. I have 5 children, 3 of which are married, 5 2 are in Heaven (my beautiful baby Acadia Reign and my Diva Princess Tara Elizabeth), and 7 grandchildren! Plus, a ton of fabulous nieces and nephews! My educational background is in Psychology and Child Development but my heart is in ministry, crafts, fun, reviews and my website, My Crafty Zoo. Or at least it was, now I'm learning who I really am, beneath all of the busy family life. It's an adventure to be sure. I look forward to continuing to share my life through word and pictures with you and love hearing your feedback! Thank you for taking the time to read and allowing me to share! I look forward to reading your comments!
