Susie’s Hope
About the Movie
My Thoughts
So I will admit I bawled like a baby throughout pretty much this whole movie. Although my hormones of my pregnancy or the fact that I’m unable to be near my own pups right now could quite easily be blamed! Susie’s Hope is such a touching story.
I especially love the perspectives they used in filming some of the scenes! While the movie description will give you plenty of the story, I just really hope you’ll consider taking the time to get the movie or even donate to the cause.
Honestly, any cause that helps animals with their care, legitimate ones. I’m not always convinced that these big charities are actually doing what they are supposed to be doing (this is not at all referencing Susie’s Hope). It’s our responsibility to ensure that we are donating to causes that are really helping.
Sadly, there are so many stories similar to this that don’t end so well. I’m thankful for someone who had the opportunity and were willing to stand up to bring attention to abused animals. They certainly need a voice.
It wasn’t long ago that I saw a picture on facebook going around trying to find some fool hurting animals so that they could put help put an end to it. That’s a good start, but it really isn’t enough. Would you be that person who didn’t say anything about something like this for fear of hurting a friendship?
Or would you be brave enough to put a stop to it and turn them in? The right thing isn’t always easy, but it is always right. I love the quote found at the end of the movie. “It may be true that the law cannot change the heart, but it can restrain the heartless.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
Another quote I will add, which is heard often from my husband, is this: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” -Edmund Burke. Don’t be one who helps evil to triumph, stand up and do something.
Film it’s not easy. I’m a man, but I cried most of the movie too. A very touching film.
This looks like a sweet movie. I think it took a lot of courage for her to save Susie and to fight for justice for her and other animals especially with what it seems she went through herself.
It really is a touching movie! I definitely recommend it!
awww I want to check this out! I am such a mush!
This sounds like an amazing movie!
My dog is a boxer-pit mix. She was found abandoned in a Florida parking lot, starving and thirsty. My son contacted owner ( she had a chip) They said they did it on purpose cause they didn’t want her. Sorry, but the south has the worst laws EVER. ln the end, after a year with my son who has several rescues, one beat up Holley and he tearfully begged me to take her. OF COURSE! ( He was unsure because I was heartbroken over my dog having to put him down a few years previously. ) all this was two years ago. She is THE BEST DOG I HAVE EVER EVER HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF EVER WELCOMING IN MY HOME!! I am so blessed. Laws need to change.I would love to learn how to get more involved to protect our furry friends. I would also like to shut down places in my area, Connecticut, who charge people ‘ viewing fees’ claim dogs are rescues but they are from puppy mills. After they find out what kind of dog someone would like, they find them in Missouri or somewhere in that area. Then these places charge fees starting at a thousand dollars. No interest in the care of animals, just money. All this needs to stop. I would love to find out how. And I tell EVERYONE about this
movie. Also another story of a dog named Gucci. Rescues are the best!
That’s an awesome story, thank you for sharing! I’m glad you’ve found the perfect friend, sounds like ya’ll rescued each other! I totally agree that the laws need to change! I live in the South as well, Arkansas but I’m from Oklahoma and in both places horrible things happen with no recourse for the humans. It’s terrible. I’d never heard of ‘viewing fees’ but that sounds like a crock of ….. Well, you get it. I hope you’ll share my post and that people will become more and more aware!
