Grace Unplugged Review
Delving into the story of Grace, I loved her spirit and her focus. I could easily see Grace in not only myself but in many of the young ladies I know. Unfortunately for me, it wasn’t far into the book when I came across a young lady who needed Grace’s story far more than I did. So, after giving it much thought and consideration, I gave the books to one of my Monkeys. I asked her to simply read it and give me her thoughts so that I could share them with you. 😀
Given that she is a young adult, writing the review didn’t really turn into a paragraph, but instead a collection of thoughts. Perhaps that will be better. Monkey 2 likes the book and has enjoyed it. She shares the same passion of music as Grace does so relating to the book has been quite simple for her!
She [Grace] has real controlling parents that want her to be in college instead of pursuing her music career. She talks to God every day [praying] that her parents will lighten up and have faith an believe in her. I think the own it book guides you through the book on how to connect with the girl in the book.
Needless to say, Monkey 2 is getting into the book. I can’t wait to see what blessings it brings her! I also can’t wait to pass it on to my niece, as I know she too will relate!
Own It mirrors the film by asking what it means to really “own” your personal faith rather than just automatically following in the footsteps of parents, friends, or other influencers. Best-selling authors Hayley and Michael DiMarco help readers understand what to do when faith meets real world challenges.
Without solid beliefs, poor choices are likely to follow. You must take the time to really know who you are, who you are becoming, and who God made you to be. It’s your personal faith . . . own it!
