5 Lessons & A Confession: Kid’s Book Review

Everyone knows that reading to our children is essential for their growth, development, and success.  At this point, this blogger does not feel a need to inform anyone of this.  However, there are some confessions that need to be shared.5 Lessons & A Confession: Kid's Book Review of Don't Ever Look Behind Door 32

5 Lessons & A Confession

First, while comments about products are always true some products are easier to review than others.  Some I don’t want to put down, let go of, or share.  Others, I can’t wait to be done with.

Second, in the Zoo we realize life is real.  Real means both sides of the coin: good and bad.  We do our best to point out all that we believe, be it good, bad, or ugly.

Third, if we find a particular product fantastic, we will go to all lengths to shamelessly promote it.

Fourth, as a My Crafty Zoo reader you may as well get accustomed to seeing this particular product.  I loved it. I’ll be going crazy about it for quite some time.  There’s a good chance it will end up being the gift I give for all appropriately aged persons, and a few fun loving friends.

Now that all of that is off my chest, my conscious is clear and I shall begin shamelessly expressing my absolute love for this fantabulous little book!  Don’t Ever Look Behind Door 32 is one of the most adorable stories I’ve read in a very long time.  I dare say it puts Dr. Suess to shame.  I know, I know.  Strong words.  Don’t believe me?  Read it, you will be a convert.

Don’t Ever Look Behind Door 32

Author B.C.R Fegan did an amazing job of telling an interesting story that are paired ever so well with the graphics done by Lenny Wen.  I love that the story flows so well, almost musically, and that every page is a page you want to spend a few moments looking at and talking about!  Even as an adult, there was a piece of me that wanted to skip to the back to find out what was behind door 32 and then the other part that couldn’t skip a single line or page!

Lessons That Can Be Taught From the Book

  1. Everyone, even seemingly scary beings, has something good about them.
  2. Even ‘monsters’ do good things.
  3. Just because one can’t do what they think they should, they can still have a good time! This can be verified, check on door 21!
  4. It takes all kinds of ‘people’ to be a team!
  5. It’s important to respect rules and privacy!
