Weight loss journey… continued. Welcome to part two as we explore Always Eat After 7. In this post, we’re having the author answer questions.
Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion is now available to purchase.
If you are totally lost, check out Always Eat After 7: Choosing A New Journey. It’s the first post in the series and explains why I’ve chosen to start this journey along with some pretty entertaining points from a rebel at heart. If you tend to go against things like I do, you’ll certainly find both entertainment and value in the reasoning behind choosing this weight loss journey in particular.
More often than not, my desire to eat hits about 6 pm. Which means I want to eat after 7 anyway. Plus, if I eat dinner early then I’m somehow starving by about 9 o’clock. It’s not a pleasant experience but Joel Marion’s book is breaking up the ‘rules’ and helping my understanding of nutrition in a whole new way. According to Joel, “Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.”
The most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. By following the Always Eat After 7PM program, you have the most willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry. This also puts you into both intermittent fasting increasing testosterone and your metabolism, while putting you into ketosis.
With that in mind, there is a sort of permission to break the rules. Many of which have no scientific basis in the first place. Since it’s much easier than so many other diets, it seems like it will become a lifestyle choice more than anything, which means once the weight is gone I’m more likely to keep it off. That’s certainly a win!
We are fortunate that in this particular weight loss journey, we have the privilege of sharing an interview with the author himself. So, without further fluff, here goes.
What inspired you to write the book?
After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.
What is different about this book compared to your others?
Although many of the concepts are similar, the biggest difference is that you don’t have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods. You don’t have to deal with the burden of eating every few hours. And you don’t have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before bed.
How long did it take to develop the diet?
It actually took several years of researching for me to discover the real science of eating late night. After a few years of tweaking and refining, I finally came up with a rapid fat loss solution that overcomes all the pitfalls of traditional diets.
How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?
It’s not. And that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm works because it caters to our bodies natural instincts.
