Music Therapy: Is it Right For You
Music Therapy, though not all that common, is not a new concept. It has been around since Biblical times and has been used for many types of therapy for so many people.
You Use It!
Whether you realize it or not, you utilize Music Therapy. Perhaps not in a formal environment, but definitely as an individual. Ever turn on a song because it relates to your mood? Utilize a certain type of music to clean, workout or even lift your mood? Music Therapy!
Music calms us, amps us up for workouts, sends us straight to a place where we can convene with God and so much more.We even sing certain songs to our little ones! I sang Amazing Grace and Thank You to our precious girl on a regular basis. It comforted her. So often music takes us to a certain place or mood. It’s wonderful!
Whether you sing, play or simply listen it’s a part of everyone’s life in some way or another.
Never Too Old!
One is never too old to learn to play a new instrument! Your brain will form new neurons no matter your age! Chief ZooKeeper has recently taken up the piano keyboard. In a few short hours, even though he’s only beginning, it has brought him so much joy and peace. My selfish perspective is that I absolutely love seeing him in that state! He’s so joyful, the stress just sort of melts away. It makes me happy.
Don’t ever think that you can’t learn or benefit! Even if you never become the next famous *whichever instrument* player, that’s not what it’s about. It’s about finding that joy and peace, allowing yourself to let go of your worries, pain and stress to be at peace with the world. Even if it’s only for a little while at a time.
Finding Music Therapy
We’re all familiar with search engines, so it’s not that hard to find what we are looking for. This post was inspired by Incadence, a Telehealth Music Therapy Company, who is providing 2 virtual music lessons to give away. They provide music therapy virtually for adults with all abilities who qualify. They have licensed, qualified therapists to help us get through life!

I always wanted to learn to play guitar and I guess they can help me learn. Otherwise I don’t think they would be really useful for me.
I think the peace we find in music would be wonderful for anyone! Bet you’ll be great at the guitar!
Maybe they can teach me to play the guitar. 🙂
