Unicorn Board Book: Unicorn & Horse Are Friends Giveaway

Unicorn, unicorn, unicorn every direction we turn! Of course it’s time to add them to the book shelves! I love the excitement little girls have when they see unicorns! The joy and pleasure truly shines through, and it reminds me of the innocence and happiness we all once held.

Unicorn & Horse Are Friends

We’ve visited friendship in past posts, especially friendship amongst children. Most recently, we posted about Middle School Pre-teen Drama, which was a total memory trip for me as I wrote the post!

I love that this little board book is a fun way to get started the love of friendship, even when we are different! Definitely needs to go on the shelf beside Penguin and Moose and Milo the Albino Dino! We’ll have friendship lessons for every age! Perhaps that will help our kids navigate the waters of friendship better than we might have!

Unicorn & Horse Are Friends

Anyway, back to the majestic unicorn!

Unicorn & Horse are Friends is perfect for little ones! It’s a simple board book that can survive their toddler years a little better than some others might. Hollie Mengert illustrated this beautiful book, and I suspect wrote it as well. It is a board book published by Familius, and we’ve definitely shown how much we love them! (Check out our Books and Films Page for a ton of them!)

It is, of course, all about how Unicorn and Horse are friends. But, more importantly, how they are different. With 5 words per page or less, to keep the attention of toddlers and little ones, they manage to talk about adorable, fun differences and teach how it’s okay to be different. All in a quick little story book!

The pictures are adorable and I love that she says unicorns eat pink cupcakes! Something about that made the little girl inside me very happy! It’s just adorable and if you didn’t smile a little at that, I hope that your day gets better.

Great Gift!

Okay, I know, everyone knows that bloggers have affiliate links and there are bloggers out there who will shamelessly plug anything they can get paid for. That stinks, for all of us. Hopefully, you are here because you’ve realized I’ll sell a sponsor out in a heartbeat if the product isn’t quality. Not because I’m a terrible person, but because I refuse to lie!

So, with that out there, I wanted to add that this would make an adorable gift to put on a Diaper Cake! While that is not an affiliate link (it’s a link to my post about how to make a diaper cake), I do hope you’ll use my affiliate link above to order the book and make an amazing baby shower gift!

Add a cupcake onesie (that one linked comes with a unicorn lovie!), the book, some bows and whatever other little things you manage to find. It will be perfect, I promise! At the time of this writing, my niece is pregnant and if she is having a girl, this will be the gift that I make for her! As much as I want my family and friends to read my site, I really hope she doesn’t read this particular post! haha

No baby? No problem!

Lots of people are doing the pajamas, book and movie for Christmas Eve these days and this little book would be perfect for toddlers! Of course, it would also make a fabulous birthday gift! I always love getting and giving gift ‘collections.’ It’s always so much fun, plus I really love to shop. haha

On the Giveaway!

I’d like to thank The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island for putting together this fantastic Giveaway hop!

One lucky winner will receive this adorable board book to stuff in a stocking, add to a diaper cake or whatever else they’d like to do with it!

Please take note!!!!

It says in the rules (which it seems no one reads) that the comment entry is mandatory and that it has to be a relevant comment, not mentioning the giveaway and not just a few words. I get that it stinks to have to comment sometimes, but bloggers need this for our sites to survive, which is also what drives us to be able to have such giveaways as this!

  • Our elf sporadically brings the littles a surprise every now and then. Sometimes it’s a box of candy canes, he usually arrives with an advent calendar, etc. I think it would be fun to have him drop a book off for the kids

My granddaughter is 4 and i Just met her for the first time. She has moved down here to TN. She was late for the enrollment of preschool, so I have been helping with her learning. I belief the Unicorn Board Book: Unicorn & Horse Are Friends would be a great asset to her training supplies. Thank you for this opportunity. Good Luck to everyone

When I saw this book it made me laugh because my daughter just asked me this morning if unicorns and horses were friends or cousins or something else. So this reminded me of our conversation we had this morning.

    • That’s awesome! Now you can show her the picture of the book and tell her they are obviously friends! Fantastic timing!

My nieces came to live with us in September and they were both behind in reading. They are 10 and 7. We’ve started a reading time after dinner and they are both really starting to enjoy reading. These books look wonderful and something that they would both be interested in.

    • This would probably be too young for them, it only has about 5 words per page. I love that you are reading with them every night and that you’re helping bring them up to speed! That is wonderful!

I would pair this book with Unicorn and Horse by David Miles. Although my elementary school-age nieces love unicorns, I think the books would be best as a gift for my oldest niece that’s having her first child in a few months. I like the idea of also including a horse or unicorn hooded blanket and stuffed animal. Maybe some stickers, too.

    • Aww, congrats to your family! New babies are the best, especially when you can send ’em home, haha. I think that would be the perfect gift combination for mommy-to-be!

Oh my god! This would be wonderful for my granddaughter. My granddaughter is 4 and she just recently moved down here to Memphis, TN from Ohio. I wasn’t prepared for her. I have nothing. I am slowly getting things for her. Her mother works at fast food so I get her every weekend. The book “Unicorn and Horse are Friends” would be a wonderful present. She got here past the dead line to enroll in preschool so I have been playing teacher to her.

    Reply
    • Aww! I’m totally jealous that you get weekends with your grandbaby! Mine live in Iowa and I miss them terribly! Also, it is insane that there is a deadline for preschool! Especially given that they moved! There are home-school resources on the site that may be of use for you, the one linked there has games for kids of all ages that are educational.
