Awaken Love is a wonderful devotional for marriages. Whether you are newlyweds or you’ve been married for decades. The goal is to help your marriage awaken (or re-awaken) the love that you hold for each other, to bring your marriage back to it’s foundational principles.
You may have read my post, Choose Happiness In Your Marriage. Through years of marriage, I’ve learned over and over again the importance of a strong foundation in God and the work of choosing that happiness. It’s not that we will always love each other so strongly, it’s that when we have doubts and struggles, we are required to go back to our foundation and start all over.
Awaken Love ‘The Song’ Devotional
The Awaken Love Song Couple’s Devotional is a 6-week book for couples that can help awaken love in their marriage. With daily relationship insights and prayer points drawn from the Song of Solomon, this devotional will help couples grow in their relationship with God and one another.
Inspired by the Song of Solomon, The Song is both a full-length movie and resource for churches to explore God’s plan for relationships, love and marriage.
My Thoughts
I can never express enough the importance of a a strong foundation in a marriage. I’m sure most of you have heard the story about the man who built his house on sand and the man who built his house on rock and such. Obviously, the house built on solid ground withstood the test of time, God is our rock and always will be should we so choose to work at keeping it that way.
That’s not at all saying that there aren’t tough times, there definitely are, but knowing that when the house of our marriage is broken to pieces our foundation will still be waiting for us to build on again is a comfort I cherish.
Awaken Love is great to help build on that foundation! Or, if you don’t have one, it would be a good place to start! Growing in Christ as a couple is an amazing thing, one that cannot be replaced by anything else!
The devotional is drawn from The Song of Solomon and I have to say that I love that Solomon is quite obviously a flawed individual, just like my husband and myself. Knowing that the many people in the Bible are flawed truly helps us to remember that we will never be perfect yet God can and will still show us favor.
While your marriage may not be facing the same challenges as those of Solomon, there is much to be learned. Kyle and Desirae Idleman do a great job of helping us to grow through love in Him. Standing on Christ the Solid Rock as our foundation, doing this devotional together as husband and wife will no doubt bring you closer to each other and closer to Him

Hi all! My name is Kaycee. I am now learning to navigate life as a single woman. Turns out, it's not all about husband and children. Who knew? So, I'm on a journey of self discovery. I have 5 children, 3 of which are married, 5 2 are in Heaven (my beautiful baby Acadia Reign and my Diva Princess Tara Elizabeth), and 7 grandchildren! Plus, a ton of fabulous nieces and nephews!
My educational background is in Psychology and Child Development but my heart is in ministry, crafts, fun, reviews and my website, My Crafty Zoo. Or at least it was, now I'm learning who I really am, beneath all of the busy family life. It's an adventure to be sure. I look forward to continuing to share my life through word and pictures with you and love hearing your feedback! Thank you for taking the time to read and allowing me to share! I look forward to reading your comments!
This looks like a good gift idea for anniversaries! Very important to always work on a marriage.
It absolutely is! I completely agree, on both points.
