Girls Night Out with

Visa prepaid cards from

As a Mom, one of my favorite things is when we have our girl time.  We go out and find something to do, it varies, and just spend time with one another.  Thanks to this adorable card, we had an easy way to pay without worrying about carrying cash!
We set out to go to the movies, but nothing good was playing so instead we ended up at Braum’s with a turtle Sunday!  We used the Visa from and it was super easy.  I really love that I don’t have to worry about it.  If it gets lost, all I have to do is log on to the site and easily cancel the card!  No need to worry about someone having my bank account information or spending my credit card dry!
Being a Great Dane and chihuahua ‘Momma’, I chose the design below.  They had so many designs that were absolutely perfect for me and my family, but this one had the aww factor I was looking for.  😀

The Details

The card can be used anywhere Visa is accepted and is super easy to activate and load, you can even use your smartphone to check on your deposits!  There is no charge for direct deposit and you can transfer funds from card to card in seconds anytime you need to!  You don’t have to worry about overdraft fees, as you won’t be able to go over budget!  You don’t have to worry about a credit check either!  With over 22,000 in network ATMs and thousands of design choices, you’ll enjoy having the card!
As long as there are at least $800 in deposits per month, you won’t have to worry about having any service fees.  So, if the company you work for offers direct deposit you can have your paycheck deposited and not have to wait on the checks to be released!  If you only want to use it for vacation or trips, or just don’t have that much to deposit, there is a $5.95 monthly fee after the first 30 days.  This is comparable to Walmart prepaid cards.

Personal Data Management: Protect Yourself DIY Style

Personal data is crazy important, especially since data theft is a huge risk in today’s age.  No longer are criminals restricted to stealing wallets and purses to completely bankrupt or ruin their victim’s day.  Hackers and predators are everywhere and highly talented.  I did a post a while back about how to protect your children from predators via photo location, it’s something we could all benefit from.  Safety is a huge priority, especially these days!

Personal Data Management

Below is a list of ways you can protect and manage your data.  There are no 100% effective methods that I know of, but every little thing helps!   Personally, I know someone who is paid to help companies learn where their security holes are by hacking into their databases.  He’s a good guy that provides an important service.  Unfortunately, not everyone these days are trustworthy.  (Just in case this post actually attracts any hackers, please know this is not a challenge, he doesn’t secure my network.)

Fundraising & Custom Tees with #TeeSpring

shirtFrontThe overhead on raising money can often be extremely high, renting a place to hold the fundraiser, purchasing things for concessions, etc.  Even to do cookbooks, there is a pretty steep price tag and therefore profits go down.  T-shirts are extremely popular, but how do you know how many to order and if you order too many, you end up losing even more money PLUS you have old Tees sitting around.  Not cool!shirtFront (2)

Teespring is a company that can help us out with raising funds!  With no overhead cost, you can raise funds for your cause.  When checking out the site, I was able to see some pages to some past campaigns.  One was from a little girl raising money to go on a global choir tour.  She set her goal at selling 36 and was able to sell 49.  Another was a family raising money to adopt.  Their goal was 50 and they were able to sell 144 shirts to raise money for an adoption!  Out of pocket cost on both: NADA!!!

Here’s How it Works

shirtFront (1)1.  Design Your Product

You may choose your color from various shirts, hoodies or tank tops.  After you choose your product, you use the easy editing tool to add words or even add your own image.  It even tells you the base cost of each item so you can modify changes if you’d like.

2.  Set Your Goal

Next you set your goal and the price of your product.  The tool will allow you to see how much the base cost is and what your profit will be when you meet your goal.

3.  Write Your Description

Now you’ve got to the last part of work, aside from promoting your fundraiser of course!  You write a description of your product, give it a title, set the length of sales (up to 23 days), choose your URL, and set your shipping option.

That’s it!!!  Not much work for the fundraiser AND you get to reap the rewards.  If you don’t meet your goal, then no one will be charged and you aren’t out anything!  Pretty sweet deal.  I can’t even say that enough!  A fundraiser with NO OVERHEAD!!!  Yes, please!  If you have the products delivered to one address and then distribute them, you even get free shipping (inside the US, not sure on outside)!!!  Again, awesome!  Not that much work if you simply set a time and place for them to be picked up!  You’ll just have to do a little bit of work, but still way less than you would otherwise!

Quit procrastinating and get started making some cash today!  😀

PayPal Rebates for Shopping

Ibotta is a app I found thanks to someone on facebook the other day and I’m pretty pleased with it thus far.

Earning is easy and they pay you directly via paypal.  What’s not to love?  I’m in favor!  I’ll let you know if I find anything bad about it, but thus far that’s all I’ve got.

I will say I’ve earned 50 cents and haven’t even made any purchases yet.  😀  That’s always nice!

Get $3 when you sign up for Swagbucks in February (US)

Valentine's SwagWant an extra boost to your budget in February??  I’ve lost count on how much I’ve made from Swagbucks over the years, but I’ll keep using it!  I earn a lot through shopping, but the most earning come from playing videos as I’m working!  Simple, doesn’t interfere, and I earn throughout the day!  Win, win!

If you haven’t tried Swagbucks before, you can get a bonus $3 for signing up as my referral this month. Swagbucks is a rewards site where you earn points (called SB) for things you’re probably doing online already, like searching, watching videos, discovering deals, and taking surveys. Then you take those points and exchange them for gift cards to places like Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, Target, or PayPal cash.

When you sign up through me this month, you can earn a $3 bonus! Here’s how:

1. Sign up using this link

2. Earn 300 SB total before 3/1/18. You’ll get a $3 (300 SB) bonus for it!

3. If you want even more bonuses, you’ll get a $10 (1000 SB rebate) bonus for making your first shop purchase! That’s in addition to the SB you earn for every dollar you spend.

That’s it. It’s super easy, and Swagbucks is for real. While you can get gift cards and other items, I tend to get paypal cash.  And yes, I have actually received them.  I wouldn’t tell you if I hadn’t.

Free Spending $$$ Sites

Hellow all!  I thought I’d bring you an updated list of where I earn my extra spending money.  They are all really great and I’d love to hear if you have any that you love!  I’m always looking for extra easy ways to earn!

Sendearnings is a pretty simple site.  I’ve made $47 from their site, and I honestly haven’t done much!  It takes time, you won’t get rich from it, but I can honestly say that the check came at a perfect time, as I was able to use it as birthday and Christmas money!  Although it wasn’t much, we all know every little bit helps!  So, how’s it work?  You can go to the site to get the details and specifics, so I’m just gonna give you a rundown.  I make a little at a time from the site through clicking through emails, occasionally signing up for promotions or taking surveys.  One can also watch videos and do tasks or even play games.  You also get a percentage of purchases made through them, it varies from store to store.  There is a $3 processing fee when you get your check, but they take it out of your balance and credit it right back to you, so no loss.  Plus, you start out at $5 anyway!

Inbox Dollars is pretty much the same as Sendearnings.  Make money through all the same ways.  Actually, I frequently end up with duplicate emails from both companies!  At any rate, I have received a $52 check from them.  Had no issues with it at all.  So, I didn’t pay anything, just clicked through the emails, which is pretty quick and got a check!  No worries!!!

Search & Win

Swagbucks is pretty simple as well.  Once you sign up, you get bonus points for signing then you win swag bucks for searches.  There is also a daily poll that gives you 1 buck a day and you get one a day if you install the toolbar.  You can use it on your smartphone as well to get points.  Points can be used for many different things, but my favorite are the gift cards!  I have ‘bought’ 4 Amazon gift cards with Swag Bucks.  They send gift card codes to you online and have other types of cards.  They also have actual things you can buy: stickers, cards, vacuum cleaners, gaming consoles and accessories.  I’ve gotten over $250 from this one!  If you have a smart phone, you can get their search and video apps and earn even faster!

This one will give you rebates on products via paypal the next day when you submit your receipts for certain products via their smart phone app! You can get started here!  No minimum cash out.

Instant Bucks is similar to the others, you get points for clicking on emails, doing offers, searches, etc.  You can get gift cards or paypal cash.

I’d love to hear some sites you’ve had success with!  I’m always up for a little extra income!!!  Thanks for coming to the Zoo!!!

Help Your Credit For Free!

Nearly 46% of consumers say they typically consider making a financial resolution – up 31% since the first year of the survey in 2009.

The top 3 financial resolutions? Saving more (52%), spending less (19%) and paying off debt (19%).

Adrian Nazari, CEO and founder of, is available to talk about how consumers can start 2013 on the right financial foot, as well as discuss the top 3 financial resolutions and what consumers can do to address them including:

Saving More

There are lots of small steps that consumers can take to achieve this resolution so choose options that fit the best with your lifestyle. Create a budget. Have more money automatically withdrawn from your paycheck and put in your 401k. Bring your lunch to work more frequently. Eliminate expensive membership fees (i.e. that gym you no longer use.) According to the Wall Street Journal, 88% of resolutions fail, so the key here is to set small, achievable goals that add up to a whole lot of savings. If you’re still worried you’ll break your resolution, consider motivating yourself by money. There are websites out there that will allow you to set a goal. If you achieve it, nothing happens, but if you don’t achieve it, the site will charge your credit card and donate money to a charity whose cause you hate.

Spending Less

The best place to start is by evaluating your current expenses. Do you really need cable television or can you make do without? What about that monthly subscription to Netflix or your 10 magazine subscriptions? Is now really the best time to buy that new couch or could you find one for free? One of the easiest and most overlooked ways to spend less is by re-evaluating your debt and improving your credit score. Consumers with better credit scores have better interest rates. Credit Sesame has found that 1 in 3 Americans are overpaying $541 a month on their loans. By refinancing, consumers could quickly save hundreds of dollars every year without having to make significant cuts to their budget.

Paying Off Debt

After taking a look at your holiday shopping credit card bill, you may (unsurprisingly) groan and vow to pay off your debt as quickly as possible. However, according the Journal of Marketing Research, consumers often go about paying their debt down the wrong way – and it can cost them in the long run. Most consumers will choose to pay off the smallest balances first, rather than the balance with the highest interest rates. Depending on the amount of debt and the different interest rates, the savings could add up. Consider using an interest rate calculator to determine how much you should pay.

Consumers who are serious about their finances should also consider signing up for free credit monitoring from Credit Sesame. Not only will credit monitoring allow consumers to stay on top of their credit, but they’ll receive alerts when important changes occur. This makes it easy for consumers to know where they stand financially, if their identity has been compromised and keep track of what’s reported to the credit bureaus.
