Eggs are probably one of the most popular breakfast item in history. If you are from the country (or somewhere close) you can probably even find fresh eggs locally. When I was young, my Great Grandfather owned chicken houses and I remember riding through collecting eggs as a child. Nothing reeks quite as bad as a chicken house, but those eggs fresh are fabulous.
As an adult, having the time to cook eggs for breakfast has taken a distant back seat to needing to get my coffee fix. Becoming a mother will reduce that even further. Though as a mother, it is also very important that I maintain begin (let’s just be honest) good nutrition. I am excited that the Eggtastic is going to help me with that, I can have an omelet in less than 3 minutes! That is fabulous! So I know there is a fun little infomercial that we are all super excited to see, but we also know that those infomercials don’t often give the results they are intended to. Let’s face it, they call it TV magic for a reason! However, after having had the pleasure of trying it out, I’m actually convinced. While my omelet didn’t turn out as pretty as the ones on the video, it tasted fabulous. I made mine with homemade salsa and I definitely plan to do so again! In literally a minute and a half, I had breakfast while my coffee was still brewing!
A good night’s sleep can leave one feeling better than anything else. So many people today are complaining that they either can’t sleep, are always tired, or don’t wake feeling rested. While the environment one sleeps in plays a huge role in that, the tools one utilizes makes an even bigger difference. Sleeping in a position that allows one’s body to rest in a natural manner is so essential that there are literally millions of combinations one can create with thread counts, mattress types, pillows and even pajamas! The key is finding the right combination for you!
Finding that perfect combination can take years. One thing that I have learned in my quest for the most comfortable night’s sleep ever is that one cannot *gulp* fully depend on sales and clearance to get that combination right… I know, that one is hard to swallow for all you deal seekers like me out there! That isn’t to say that you can’t find great deals, just a realization that the pillows I get at Christmas sales for $3 aren’t the most effective pillows for my quest of the perfect night’s slumber! They will, however, work just fine for the guest bedrooms and kids to sleep on. LOL. So, don’t despair, there is no need to put that off of your list of things that you ‘need’ to go out on Black Friday for!
I mentioned I found my perfect pillow, I know you are sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to get to the details so here goes! My husband and I sleep in very different positions. He likes his pillows to be flat so that he can sleep with his arm under the pillow. I however like to have my pillows thick so that I can prop myself up on them as I sleep. There is a good chance that is weird, but then if you’ve been around the Zoo long, you know I’m a pretty weird cat! LOL.
We each got a pillow from Naturepedic that fit our sleeping habits, my husband’s first reaction to his new pillow was “Sweet, I don’t have to break it in, it’s perfect!” After a few months of using it, it is still the same as it was when we first got it. I had feared that it would flatten more and become uncomfortable, as pillows so often do, but I was happily proven wrong!
Now on to the comfortable one… Um… I mean mine. LOL. One thing I hate about pillows is that they so quickly become smashed down (at which point I’m ready to give them to the hubby and get another!) Surprisingly, after three months of use my pillow is just as plump as when I got it. If you think three months isn’t en0ugh to smash a pillow, remember that I have narcolepsy so I sleep way more than one’s average 6-8 hours. I sleep about 14-18 hours. Lame, I know. It is plenty of time to get a pillow broke in though!
If you are in the market for some good sleep, I highly suggest getting yourself one or two of these fabulous pillows! You will NOT be sorry! I assure you!
Family Game Night can be such fun! We’ve got some games that will definitely become some of your new family favorites!
Memories of family game nights are very close to my heart and no doubt close to many of yours as well! They bring so much laughter, love and -we’ll call them- debates! My husband has many stories similar to my own, family game nights and family game…. debates…. Haha. They’ve definitely fostered some healthy competitiveness! This comes out during game play, as well as in the workforce. That has proven itself quite beneficial career wise!
New & Fabulous Game Night Games!
In this Zoo, there is a love for crossword and word search puzzles, so the natural first game choice was Wordsearch! We had a lot of fun playing and I love that the new puzzles can be stored underneath the cover so they are stored neatly! With 16 different puzzles and up to 4 players, the game can be played in the game night rotation for quite sometime without players being able to start memorizing location. Even if there’s a player who is really good at remembering, finding a word that crosses theirs means you get to take the word they found! I am hoping that they eventually come out with new packs for it but it’s going to be quite some time before we will want new puzzles. This game is great for both puzzle lovers and competitive family fun!
The next game we played, ages 13 +, is Stuff Happens. This one is a hilarious way of competitively rating bad day crap. Great for those who love the one up game, i,e., “today sucked, I stepped in a puddle and ruined my new slacks walking into the office”…. “that does suck, I got a flat tire and tripped on the sidewalk, my knee is bruised and swollen….” Ah, gotta love the one up people! haha. Don’t worry though, you can’t win the game on sheer misery, you have to rate the cards on the misery scale provided correctly to win. I’m thinking a game where one has to tell the story of how the crazy thing happened before it’s rated is in order! This one is for 2+ players and comes with 200 cards, so I’d say it could house games of a ton of people! Easily good for 10 people, I wish we’d had this when we worked at the Children’s Home! Our girls would have loved this!
Last but certainly not, are the Spicy Games. Oh, how I love these! Not only are they super cute, but they are great quick games for picnics or vacations! They are the perfect size to stick in your purse so you’ll have them when you need to kill time! Say, a layover or camping trip? Each of the games are essentially dice games but with a spin on them to spice them up! I really couldn’t pick a favorite, so you’ll have to pick on your own. They don’t require a ton of space to play and you can play pretty much anywhere! A fantastic coffee table game anyone can play and find room to store without problem!
