PSCPets Aging Support: Probiotics For Senior Dogs

Hello all!  Meet my babies.

Tatorbug is 12 years old.  He became my baby when he was just 8 weeks old.  He has an adventurous spirit and has went through a lot in his pampered little life.  For example, when he was 2 years old he decided to sneak out while I was gone by pushing out the window screen and went and got into a fight with the neighbors pit bulls.  He kept up his side, he managed to get blood on that white dog’s fur….

Unfortunately, the white dog was able to break his jaw in the process…  Then when he was about 5 years old he explored the highway…  Got hit and beat up.  Then spent a few nights in doggy jail while I cried myself to sleep at night worrying.  Apparently he couldn’t reach a bondsman…

Next we have Lucy.  she is 11 years old.  She is a prissy little diva who does NOT like the paparazzi!  When taking her picture we either get pics of her looking like she will bite your throat out or she looks like a poor abused dog with her eyes all downcast…  It’s a trick to get pity…  Don’t fall for it!

Then there is the baby of the group: Imahna.  She has a big fancy title, but she is as down to earth as possible…  Sometimes inside the earth, as she loves digging holes for me to trip on when we play!  Such a considerate little diva.  She is 3 years old and has to be covered up and tucked in at night.

If she decides she is hot, she gets out from under the covers then wakes you up when she is cold again to be re-tucked!  As fun as those are, her big trick is the stretch and release…  of gas.  She runs us out of the room from time to time.  It’s terrible.  Apparently a lovely trait of the Great Dane breed.  Who would have thought…

Needless to say, when I had the chance to try these out they were doing tricks.  Literally.  😀

PSCPets Aging Support: Probiotics For Senior DogsWith the sustained injuries, healed though they may be, there are many mornings where Tatorbug refuses to get up for a while, especially when it’s cold.  Plus, he just doesn’t have as much pep as he use to.  Sometimes he won’t even run to get his toy, rather walks slowly down the hall to them.   However, I can honestly say that shortly after I started giving him the Aging Support for Dogs, he got his youthful pep back in his step.

There was  a noticeable difference in his activity level.  I am very pleased with it.  He loves taking them, too, as they are liver and poultry flavored.  Due to that lovely jaw break, he has a lot of teeth missing but the softness of the chews weren’t a problem for him at all.

If your dog is a picky eater and you are concerned, let me ease your worries a bit.  Lucy is PICKY.  If she doesn’t like something, she will sniff it and then stare at you waiting for you to get something else.  OR she will take it and spit it out at your feet…  Again with that look that screams “YOU eXPEct me to EAT THAT!!!”  So, that being said, she loves the aging support!

Now, on to Miss. Gassy…. uh….  Imahna.  I have to say, we feed her very expensive dog food.  She has horrible reactions to corn and wheat ingredients so we feed her a food that is not at all cheap so that she doesn’t have those in her food.  Although this doesn’t help with the gas, it does help with her breaking out.  Yes, my dog gets pimples.

When I got the probiotic, I decided to let her give it a try.  Plus, it’s not fair if she doesn’t get something when the other two do!  Regardless, I started giving her the Probiotics and her gas was gone.  Of course, if I miss giving it to her, she gets gassy again.  Apparently probiotics helps kill the bad bacteria in the intestines.  Our doctor actually gave us probiotics when we were sick, so it’s no wonder it works for her too!  She loves them, thinks they are treats, so I never have a problem getting her to eat them.  Of course, she will eat about anything so I can’t speak for the pickier babies!
