MilkBone Brushing Chews Review

IMG_5449Every morning I get up and brush my teeth.  It’s the most important thing I do, yet I very rarely think to brush the teeth of my dogs.  At one time, I was under the misconception that dogs didn’t need their teeth brushed.  They probably wouldn’t if they were in the wild doing what untamed dogs do.  However, given that my dogs have never made their own kill much less enjoyed fresh bones their dental hygiene is up to me.  A while back I did a tutorial about how to brush their teeth, feel free to check it out here.  If nothing else, I can assure you that you will be amused by the pics.  Don’t worry, my babies are dramatic but no one was actually tortured.  I underestimated them when I thought it wouldn’t come out in pictures!  LOL

IMG_5454Anyway, if you don’t have time to brush their teeth or would just like to have another teeth cleaning addition to their regimen, this one is much easier.  Milk Bone has come out with Brushing Chews.  Even my picky Lucy Lou Lou loves them.  If she doesn’t like something, she will put it down (or refuse to take it) then stare at you like you are horrible for not having something she liked.  LOL.  I don’t know where she got this habit, but it amuses me to no end.  In case you are wondering, not having a replacement treat that she deems acceptable means that she sulks for a few hours.  She is a mix between diva and brat.  Of course, maybe they are one in the same.  Before I give you the company’s product description and such, let me inform you that Lucy’s breathe could kill off flies.  It’s terrible, I think it is a small dog thing, not real certain.  I have found that the Brushing Chews really help her breathe, which pleases me!  Now I can occasionally get kisses that aren’t presented with a horrid smell!

IMG_5456According to the Veterinary Oral Health Council, giving your dog Milk Bone Brushing Chews daily is as effective as brushing a dog’s teeth twice a week based on the reduction of tarter build-up.  They recommend daily tooth brushing for optimal effectiveness.

Here are the Brushing Chews specs from Milk Bone:

  • They are clinically proven to reduce tartar build-up as well as freshen your dog’s breath
  • They are so effective that they have earned the trusted Veterinary Oral Health Council’s (VOHC) Seal of Acceptance, similar to the American Dental Association seal seen on human dental products.

Hi all! My name is Kaycee. I am now learning to navigate life as a single woman. Turns out, it's not all about husband and children. Who knew? So, I'm on a journey of self discovery. I have 5 children, 3 of which are married, 5 2 are in Heaven (my beautiful baby Acadia Reign and my Diva Princess Tara Elizabeth), and 7 grandchildren! Plus, a ton of fabulous nieces and nephews! My educational background is in Psychology and Child Development but my heart is in ministry, crafts, fun, reviews and my website, My Crafty Zoo. Or at least it was, now I'm learning who I really am, beneath all of the busy family life. It's an adventure to be sure. I look forward to continuing to share my life through word and pictures with you and love hearing your feedback! Thank you for taking the time to read and allowing me to share!
