3 large eggs
1 1/4 cups milk (Silk works perfectly!)
3/4 tsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 c plain bread crumbs
8 slices dry white bread
1/4 cup butter (if using non-dairy, also add 2 drops of Butter Extract– linking to the one I use)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
syrup of choice
Beat eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla in shallow bowl until well blended.
Place bread crumbs in shallow dish.
Dip bread in egg mixture, then coat with bread crumbs.
Place on large wire rack.
Add butter and oil into pan, place pan in 400 degree oven for 1-2 minutes until butter melts.
Remove pan from oven.
Place bread slices into pan, in single layer, turning over once to coat both sides of bread slices with butter mixture.
Return to oven and bake 15 minutes.
Turn bread slices over and bake 10 more minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve with butter and maple syrup.
