Let’s Hatch Chicks: A Review You Can’t Miss

Let’s Hatch Chicks is an adorable and informative book about ‘the Wonderful World of Chickens and Eggs’.  This is the perfect Spring or anytime book! Lisa Steel does a wonderful job helping kids understand raising, caring for, and hatching chicks.

My own adorable (and there is absolutely no bias here) niece now has her own little chicks and is loving them so much!  This delightful little book will no doubt be very helpful for her, and I look forward to the time when she decides she is the little chicken expert and starts schooling my Dad.  Haha.  For disclosures sake, if there is any way you don’t believe that said niece is adorable the pictures included in this review will definitely squash those doubts.  If it doesn’t, one may need to check their vision.  Haha!  But seriously….  Okay, we’ll move on…A Childrens Book Review You Cant Miss

Let’s Hatch Chicks

One of my favorite parts of Let’s Hatch Chicks is the day by day growth and development explanation of their entire lives, from embryo to hatch day!  Even having grown up on a farm with chickens, there is still so much learned in this little book!  There is even a glossary in the back!  Violet, our sweet chicken guide, takes us through all we need to know with wonderful illustrations drawn by Perry Taylor.

One could easily utilize this book to do lessons, whether homeschooled or not.  My brain came up with so many cute lesson plans with this one!  I love that so many things can be used to educate our children!  This girl truly feels that there are lessons in everything, and that teaching them is essential to the success of our children.  I included lessons for you to use in my review of Don’t Ever Look Behind Door 32 but I’ll let you come up with your own on this one.  Seriously toying with the idea of creating little lessons to go along with these adorable books!   Perhaps that project will come to fruition one day.  Anyone interested?

My Fairy Garden: How do Your Fairies Play?

My Fairy Garden is one of those products that you see and you want so bad to buy, not for your little girl My Fairy Garden: How do your fairies play?(though she’d love it) or your niece (who’d just go crazy over it) but to have for yourself.  Only, we are supposed to be grownups.  So of course I was super stoked to get to review this, to test for the kids of course.  Can never be too cautious with what our little ones get their hands on.  LOL  I did enlist one of my lovely nieces to assist.  Only because I needed her mature input.  (Someone had to be the grownup, I was making a mess!  Haha

My Fairy Garden is absolutely adorable.  It comes with a cute little fairy to fly around the flowers when they grow, and even an area for her and her bunny to live when it’s too windy out.  The whole adventure is wonderful in so many ways.  There are so many lessons that they can teach about life, growth, imagination and many more.  The conversation my niece had with me, um..  I had with my niece LOL was really great.  So many opportunities to teach.  My Fairy Garden: How do your fairies play?We talked  about beauty and growth, about how time can do so many things for us as people and so much more.  Of course, we also talked about what we imagined the fairies did in the backyard.

In all honesty, My Fairy Garden is perfect for little girls to play with.  My niece is 9 and she absolutely loved it.  She had so much fun getting the dirt spread, planting the seeds and playing with the fairy and her accessories.  We did decide we needed to get her some stones to go in it from outside.  We’re patiently waiting for the beautiful flowers to grow!  My only complaint would be about the wire that assists the fairy in flying as it doesn’t want to bend the way I want it and it’s impossible to get the fairy to stand up on her own.  Both are minor complaints that my niece never picked up on.My Fairy Garden: How do your fairies play?
