The Little Things

A week or so ago my friend, whom I don’t often get to see, informed me that her little girl was having issues with some family problems and seemed to be very sad.  While she was getting her little one help, I wanted to do something.  This little girl lights up my life and I don’t even get to see her!  Thanks to social media, I follow my friend’s little ones as close as I can given the distance between us.  I love them so much that their pain is my pain. While trying to figure out what I could do, in addition to prayer of course, I remembered what helped me when I was a kid.  My Aunt sends me cards on birthdays and special occasions, she’s done it since I was a kid.  I have taken up the torch and began sending the little ones in my life cards.
Unfortunately, I don’t really have kid ‘thinking of you’ cards laying around.  So, I took a note card I had and wrote a little note to say that I loved that beautiful little girl and sent it.  A few days ago, her Momma sent me a text to tell me that I made a little girl very happy.  It literally took a few minutes and less than a buck but knowing that I helped bring a smile to her face made me very happy, too.
Are there any little things you do to help lift someone’s spirits?  I’d love to hear them!  Especially those that can be mailed!  LOL.  We have a lot of nieces and a nephew that don’t live close enough to see very often!

Kaycee

Hi all! My name is Kaycee. I am now learning to navigate life as a single woman. Turns out, it's not all about husband and children. Who knew? So, I'm on a journey of self discovery. I have 5 children, 3 of which are married, 5 2 are in Heaven (my beautiful baby Acadia Reign and my Diva Princess Tara Elizabeth), and 7 grandchildren! Plus, a ton of fabulous nieces and nephews! My educational background is in Psychology and Child Development but my heart is in ministry, crafts, fun, reviews and my website, My Crafty Zoo. Or at least it was, now I'm learning who I really am, beneath all of the busy family life. It's an adventure to be sure. I look forward to continuing to share my life through word and pictures with you and love hearing your feedback! Thank you for taking the time to read and allowing me to share! I look forward to reading your comments!

That’s a good idea. I always sent cards from Santa to my niece and nephews when they were younger and they loved that. Most kids enjoy getting letters addressed to them.
