What burns inside you?

Hello, Crystal here.

The weekend is upon us! Yay! I like to grab a good book and curl up on the swing by the pool when I don’t have much planned for the weekend.

Speaking of, I believe I mentioned in my introductory post that I am a writer. I just recently published my 3rd book. It is part of a series entitled Blu Harbor Witches.  The first is Fire Within Me followed by Cursed in Love. If you enjoy Nora Roberts Witch series I think you will like mine. You don’t have to take my word for it. At the end of the post, I will link the reviews that Lia gave them over at Lia’s Bookish Obsession.  With a site like that and a reading list like Lia has, you know she can spot a good book!

         What burns inside you?

Fire Within Me:

The main Character Elizabeth Strong is trying to find her place in the world after a bad relationship. What she found was more than just a home. She finds herself, family, and maybe even love.  The new world she discovers is like a fantasy; things she thought only existed in fairy tales.

Billy Merk was raised to hate the Strong family. The resentment went back to the early 1900’s where the family feud begin. Billy never went along with the idea he had to hold grudges that truly had nothing to do with him. For reasons he did not understand at first, he felt compelled to Elizabeth.

This fueled the war and Billy’s Mother and Brother are determined to keep him from her and the rest of the Strong family. Billy would have to finally deal with the impacts of this war. Which side would he choose?

You can find both books in the Amazon store as a paperback or an ebook. I hope that you have a great weekend. If you are compelled to check out my books I would be so flattered.

Book Review

Sometimes to write a book review, I have to think long and hard. I’m always a little nervous at the thought of a ‘real’ author reading my silly little website. Every now and then though, I have so much excitement about a book that I can’t worry about what they think. I just write. This book is one of them. I have a thing where if I’m not interested in the first three pages, I’m done. I can’t or won’t force myself to read something that doesn’t quickly draw me in. If We Were a Movie drew me in quickly and I couldn’t put it down. I finished the book in two days, letting my other responsibilities take a hard backseat. I think my husband is still mad that he didn’t get any conversation for an entire evening because I couldn’t stop reading. The title of the book intrigued me from the beginning and the book gave what it promised in that paragraph meant to steal all of our attention. A love story with twists and turns, it gave what it promised and then some. Rather than my typical disappointment when a book ends, I am excited to know AUTHOR NAME has a series of books related called the MatchMaker Series. It is not often that I find an author whose books I feel like I must read, but this one is one of those rare ones. I normally say something along the lines of ‘you should’ or ‘must read’ but this time, I’m just going to say if you don’t read it, you are missing out. To quote Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow, “Don’t just take my word for it…”
